INTRODUCTION

High end star hotels have a large number of paintings and other artifacts on display in common areas and rooms. The same is applicable to offices and commercial properties, though the valuable assets could be items other than artifacts. These assets are very valuable and attractive today, and their value also goes up with time!

The challenge for these organizations is to protect such artifacts given the temptation for various stakeholders to ‘pinch’ them. ZeeSense has designed a unique solution for this problem using the ZigBee wireless network technology.

ZEESENSE SOLUTION

The ZeeSense solution uses ZigBee contact sensors on the assets and connects these sensors to local and/or centralized alarm systems and applications which in turn immediately generate a multi-pronged security mechanism.

The ZeeSense ZigBee system detects any movement of the asset by more than one inch and sends an alert signal immediately from the asset through the wireless sensor network. This alert mechanism triggers a multi-pronged security net:

• The alert is picked up immediately by zigbee sirens (local and/or central) that start sounding high pitched theft alarms to alert security staff to take action.
• The alert is also simultaneously picked up by the ZeeSense software application that pops up information on computer screens such as asset no, description, location, picture of the asset etc.
• The ZeeSense application can also SMS to concerned security staff providing details of the asset potentially under threat. This ensures immediate and appropriate level of supervision and handling of the incident.
• The ZeeSense application can send SMS to security personnel operating CCTV command centres, containing the address of the CCTV camera that covers the asset location. Using this, security personnel can remotely start viewing the CCTV coverage of the asset location on the DVR/NVR or even on their smart phones, and start seeing what is going on.

With all these security mechanisms in place, the chances of the asset moving out of the premises are very slim indeed!.
